How can I apply?

Who can participate in the HEC Paris Business Game?

To be eligible for participation, you must be currently enrolled in a master’s program (MA, MiM, MSc) or be a bachelor’s student. To ensure comparability, all MBA, CMA (complementary master), and Ph.D. students are not eligible to register.

Do I need to be a business school student to apply for the HEC Paris Business Game?

Definitely not! Students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply if they have an interest in business.

How much does it cost to participate?

The registration fees for the 2020 edition have been set as follow: €40/participant for early bird applicants and €50/participant for regular admission applicants. This fee covers breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and drinks throughout the event. Please note, this fee is only applicable to teams that are invited to participate to the HEC Paris Business Game.
In addition, participants of the HEC Paris Business Game are offered accommodation options on the HEC Paris campus or at a nearby hotel at a discounted price.

How are participants chosen for the HEC Paris Business Game?

To register for HEC Paris Business game, you need to submit your application details and CV, and chose a teammate. While you might know your teammate before applying, the official selection of your teammate is to be done on the platform after you submit your application details. Once your details are submitted and your team is formed, you may be invited to solve a business case study. You and your teammate will have two weeks to complete the case and submit a brief video explaining your motivation. For details on the progress and to register, please go to our registration page.

When will I be notified about the outcome of my application?

We aim to respond to your application as soon as possible. Due to the high volume of applicants anticipated for the HEC Paris Business Game, please allow a period of at least 2-3 weeks after the submission of case.

When will the HEC Paris Business Game take place?

The 2020 edition of the HEC Paris Business Game will take place on April 24 – 25, 2020. Subscribe to our mailing list and Facebook page to be up to date with our most recent information.

Where will the HEC Paris Business Game take place?

The 2020 edition of HEC Business Game will be held on the campus of HEC Paris.

Which language(s) will be used?

The competition will be held entirely in English.

Do I need to complete the case submission individually or with my teammate?

You have to complete your case together with your teammate. More instructions will be sent by email to the selected teams.

Do I have to bring a laptop?

Yes, your laptop will be an essential tool at the HEC Paris Business Game. Each team of two will need at least one laptop between them.

What is the dress code?

The dress code is business smart.

Do I need specific prior knowledge in order to participate?

Every case will be introduced beforehand. However, we do encourage you to read up about the industries our event sponsor operate in and the challenges the companies may face. This is due to the fact that the cases solved during the event are provided by the sponsor companies and concern their real business problems.

What can I expect from the HEC Paris Business Game?

In addition to solving cases and meeting other talented international students, the HEC Paris Business Game is a great opportunity for you to meet representatives from our major corporate partners. Throughout the course of the Business Game, you will have time to network, get contacts, and maybe even apply for available positions.

I have been selected but I won’t be able to attend, what should I do?

All participants are asked to inform the organization team as early as possible, if they are no longer able to attend. This opens up the opportunity for another student to participate instead of them. The team can be contacted at: Any participants cancelling later than 3 weeks prior to the event or not showing up without notice will be charged a penalty fee.
